Abstract

Everyone knows that iodine deficiency can cause goiter, but few people know that high iodine can also cause goiter. It is generally believed that excessive intake of iodine by the human body can inhibit the synthesis and release of thyroxine, leaving thyroxine at a low level for a long time. This results in compensatory enlargement of the thyroid gland. In order to explore the distribution and formation of shallow high-iodine groundwater in this area, the Hebei Department of Geology and Mineral Resources has carried out a number of environmental geological surveys in the Cangzhou area. The distribution patterns and causes of the formation of shallow high-iodine groundwater in eastern Hebei have been basically identified, and a large amount of data with reference value has been obtained. The cause of high iodine groundwater in the eastern plain of Hebei is closely related to the silt quality of the first marine layer rich in organic matter. Its deposition environment is the beach tidal lagoon phase. The organic matter is rich in marine organisms. Its decomposition will make the groundwater rich in water. Collect iodine. The main sources of iodine are marine plants and marine microorganisms. In the beach tidal lagoon environment, a large number of iodine-rich marine organisms exist in this suitable environment.
