Abstract

The open Y-shaped wide tail pier is proposed on the basis of the Y-shaped wide tail pier and is a new type of auxiliary energy dissipator. Based on the hydraulic model, the shape and energy dissipation effect of the open Y-shaped wide tail pier were tested. Research has shown that in addition to the water flow characteristics of the Y-shaped wide tail pier, this energy dissipator also utilizes the waterless area behind the pier to form a projecting water flow through the opening, which meets not far behind the pier and spreads laterally and mixes Qi enters the pool. Through the longitudinal and vertical spread of the Y-shaped pier, coupled with the lateral diffusion of the water tongue in the waterless area behind the pier, not only the energy dissipation rate of the dam surface is improved, but also part of the energy entering the pool concentrated by the wide tail pier is Spread out, it increases the energy dissipation effect in the pool, reduces the erosion of the downstream river bed, and at the same time lowers the water level of the chamber and increases the discharge capacity of the gate hole.
