Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture held a national irrigation management work conference from February 26 to March 2 this year. This article is the summary report of Vice Minister He Jili of the Ministry of Agriculture at the meeting. Under the current situation, taking a step back to strengthen irrigation management is more important than ever before. All due to irrigation, the area has been developed to about 10 years old in 1958, accounting for 67% of the cultivated land. In 1959, more than 13% of the total sown area could be irrigated, which was an important base for ensuring a greater harvest. The high yields of Huangliang were mainly obtained from these irrigated cultivated lands. Therefore, if the existing irrigation is not well managed and used properly, it will be a waste of time.
